Raising Expectations Highlights!!

WINTER HOLIDAY GIVING CAMPAIGN - Raising Expectations Inc. would like to wish everyone a joyful and warm
holiday season with friends and family!   We have had a challenging 2013 year with very limited funds for our
youth arts programming.  However, through your continued support and a new partnership with the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Greater Washington, we were able to successfully host our  annual Youth DJ "Mixin' and Jammin'" Camp
this summer as well as provide dance classes.  Click here to visit our dance and music photo gallery pages and
learn more about our achievements.

Regretfully, we were not able to provide our youth culinary arts classes this past fall and will NOT be hosting our
annual community holiday showcase event. as you know Raising Expectations Inc.'s goal is to provide year-round
programming for young people, keep them engaged during out-of-school time, and expose them to positive role
models in various artistic disciplines.  And we need your help!

In the season of giving, we ask that you donate a special holiday gift to sponsor a DC youth who has a passion to
develop their talents with Raising Expectations Inc.   Your tax-deductible charitable gift of any amount will go
towards making a huge difference in the life of a young person by helping to build their self-esteem through
artistic expression in dance, art, music, and culinary arts.  Click on the Paypal link to make a gift online before the
end of the year.  Thank you for your support and Season's Greetings!

R.E.'s Mission!!

Raising Expectations’ mission (R.E.) is to instill cultural integrity, self-empowerment, and
discipline among youth ages 10-18 through instruction in the  visual/performing arts and
arts apprenticeship opportunities.  Since 2005, our motto has been to "R.E-Educate, R.
E-Unify, and R.E-Connect Through the Arts," and our mission is to do that at each youth
arts workshop activity!

By creating fun-filled cultural arts activities and fostering positive relationships between
youth, parents, and teachers, R.E. bridges generational communication gaps and
facilitate solutions-oriented dialogue and interaction.

With a diverse consortium of arts educators and mentors (see our
R.E. History Page),
R.E. instructors challenge the creative energy and potential of youth and young adults.
We provide skills-based, interactive learning exercises in our arts workshops.
Workshops range from wooden-sculpture making to the craft of DJ'ing, and from arts
healing methods to salsa lessons.

R.E. workshops and arts apprenticeships fascinate and sharpen young people's
understanding of the dedication necessary to achieve artistic masterpieces.  One youth
at a time, we are changing their perspective of the world around them and helping them
to bring people of diverse backgrounds together!
